Baumes (Balmes) House antique print. Original antique copper-plate engraving of "Baumes, formerly the Seat of Sir George Whitmore." 'Balmes' was converted into a asylum in the 1750s and is from where we get the term 'barmy.' Published in 'The Environs of London,' 2nd. edition in 1811. Paper size approx. 12 x 9.5 inches. Nice condition.
