Merrimac gun deck Illustrated Times antique print

Merrimac gun-deck woodblock engraving published by the 'Illustrated Times' to accompany a report of the scuttling of the ironclad by the Confederacy to avoid it falling into the hands of Union Forces. A rare original full page with a report on the reverse page covering the story of the 'blowing up' of the Merrimac before the evacuation of Norfolk. Paper size 10.25x14.75. Very good condition save for being closely trimmed on the right.
