General Windham in the Redan Sept. 8th. 1855 during the Crimean War. The attack on the Russian redoubt led to the awarding of 20 Victoria Crosses and the Russian defenders describing the British troops as "Lions led by Donkeys."  Original antique print published in 1860 by The London Printing and Publishing Company Limited. Paper size approx. 11x7.5 inches (281x192mm.) Printed area in excellent condition, some damage where removed from the binding at base.
