Saluting Queen Victoria's Keys : Ancient Ceremony at the Tower. Original antique print published in 1859 in the 'Illustrated Times.' A rare engraving showing the guards saluting the Queen's Keys during the closing of the gates at the Tower of London. A Yeoman Warder (Beefeater) is holding the keys while another holds a lamp to illuminate the ceremony. Paper size approx. 10x8 inches (257x197mm) A rare item in good condition, although tightly 'trimmed' on the left where torn from the edition. Dated verso, Saturday, April 23, 1859.
