St Andrews Hospital, Bromley-by-Bow, a hospital built on Devons Road in East London, opened in 1871 to care for the sick poor from the Poplar and Stepney workhouse. Until 1921 known as the Poplar and Stepney Sick Asylum. Paper size 10.75 x 5 inches. Image size approx. 9.25x 3.25 inches, including text. Trimmed from the original page of 'The Illustrated London News,' published in 1871. A rare item in very good condition.
