St. Paul's Church Shadwell interior antique print published by Robert Wilkinson in 1825.

The building pictured in this antique print was built in 1658 but became dilapidated with the ceiling collapsing in 1811 and the church being closed except for christenings and burials. Demolished in 1817, a new building was opened in 1820.

Captain James Cook worshipped at the church and his eldest son was baptised there. John Wesley preached at St. Paul's between 1770 and 1790, including his very last sermon.

Paper size 11 x 13.5 inches. Some foxing which is clear on the scanned image, also a small crease on the left margin beyond the printed area. A scarce copper-plate engraving.

High-resolution jpeg available on request.
