Baron Mayer Amschel De Rothschild 'STATESMEN.-No. LXXXV "The winner of the race." Original Vanity Fair antique print published to celebrate Baron Rothschild's horse, Favonius, winning the 1871 Derby at Epsom. The 'House of Rothschild' was described by Bismark as " a sixth great Power in Europe." The Liberal MP for Hythe, Mayer built Mentmore Towers in Buckinghamshire, one of the great country seats of the Victorian era. Excellent condition. Paper size approx. 14x9 inches.
