Dartford Priory, Kent, was the only Dominican nunnery in England, founded by King Edward III around 1349 on the site of a former royal palace. Original copper-plate engraved print from ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales’ by Francis Grose, dated in the plate 25th. June 1784. Paper size approx 10.5 x 8 inches. Engraved area approx. 6 x 4.5 inches. A rare item. The engraved area is excellent; the border has a few foxing spots.
