Dover Castle Old Church Kent antique print. Original antique print published in Francis Grose’s ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales' dated in the plate 1784. The church of St Mary in Castro is a Saxon church dating from around 1000 AD, surrounded by a large late Saxon cemetery. The Normans enclosed the church following William the Conqueror's invasion of England. Approx. paper size 10x8. Excellent condition.
