Built on an earlier motte and bailey castle, Hawarden Castle was constructed from c.1297. Our antique print from Francis Grose's "Antiquities of England and Wales" is dated in the plate 1773. Approx. paper size 10x8. A nice clean image save for a foxing spot above the flagpole (see scan.)
