Independencia Brazilian frigate after the attempted launch at Blackwall. Original half-page antique print published in 'The Illustrated London News' in 1974 with a report verso stating, "The attention of passengers up and down the river at Millwall during the last fortnight  has been attracted by the sight of a ship lying helpless in the position shown by our Illustration." Paper size  10.5 x 7.75. Excellent condition.

Note. One hundred years later in 1974 the fifth frigate named Independcia was launched in the UK having been built for the Brazilian Navy by Vosper Thornycroft.
