Ludlow Castle. Antique print of Ludlow Castle a ruined medieval fortification in the town of the same name in the English county of Shropshire, standing on a promontory overlooking the River Teme. The castle was probably founded by Walter de Lacy after the Norman conquest and was one of the first stone castles to be built in England. Original copper-plate engraved print from ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales’ by Francis Grose, dated in the plate 21st. March 1785. Paper size approx. 11 x 7.5 inches. Excellent condition. A rare item.
