Malmesbury. Antique print of Malmesbury Market Cross, Wiltshire, which stands in the town centre. Built c.1490, possibly using limestone salvaged from the recently ruined part of Malmesbury Abbey. Original copper-plate engraved print from ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales’ by Francis Grose, dated in the plate 5th. September 1785. Paper size approx. 11 x 7.5 inches. Excellent condition. A rare item.
