Middleham Castle antique. Original copper-plate engraved antique print of the ruins of medieval Middleham Castle, Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, England. Middleham Castle was built by Robert Fitzrandolph, 3rd Lord of Middleham and Spennithorne, commencing in 1190. It was built near the site of an earlier motte and bailey castle. Antique print from ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales’ by Francis Grose, dated in the plate 1785. A scarce item.
