St Dionisius Priory, Hampshire. St Dionisius Priory (St Denys or St Dennis) was an Augustinian priory founded by King Henry I. It stood on the west bank of the River Itchen, but fell victim to the dissolution in 1536. According to John Duthy ‘Sketches of Hampshire’ 1834, remnants of the Priory’s architecture could be found acting as water troughs and walls on a local farm.
