Tixall Gatehouse. Antique print of Tixall Gatehouse, the 16th-century gatehouse situated at Tixall, near Stafford, Staffordshire is all that remains of Tixall Hall. The home of the Aston family, it was used a prison for Mary, Queen of Scots. Antique copper-plate engraving dated in the plate 11 April 1785. Size of engraved area approx 5x6ins.
