Wimborne Church. Antique print of Wimborne Minster, or Wimborne Church, Dorset, England. The Minster has existed for over 1300 years and is recognised for its unusual chained library (one of only five surviving chained libraries in the world). The Minster is a former monastery and Benedictine nunnery, and King Æthelred of Wessex is buried there. 

Original copper-plate engraved print from ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales’ by Francis Grose, dated in the plate 2nd. February, 1787. Paper size approx. 10.75 x 8 inches. A rare item in nice condition (shadow does not appear on the original.)
